Our Story

The GraffiTees Getting Started Story

My name is
Grace Henderson

I’m 14 years old.  My dad and I started GraffiTees Apparel Company in the spring of 2023.  I love making custom T-shirts & finding fun graphics for hoodies, sweaters, stickers and anything else that can be printed or engraved.

The story of how we got started is pretty fun and I’m proud of where we’ve come from.  Way back in January 2023 my hockey team played in the Orangeville Tigers Sweetheart Hockey Tournament.  I saw a company selling hoodies when we walked in and during the game I asked my dad if I could have a tournament hoodie.  My dad was an assistant coach and before I went out on my next shift I said, “Dad, if I score a goal will you buy me a hoodie?”  We were playing our arch rivals the London Devilettes who beat us in the championship of the last tournament we played in. Not only did I score on my next shift but I scored another goal and we won 3-2.  It was the end of January and that was the first game our rivals had lost that season.

After that game my dad kept his promise and bought me a hoodie.  We added my name and number on the back.

We ended up playing the Devilettes again in the championship and we beat them 1-0 in overtime to win the championship!

We had a long drive home and my dad and I were talking about how cool it is that they make hoodies and stuff right there at the arena.  Dad said something about how much they charge and how much the hoodie actually cost them and it made me think about how cool that was.  We talked more about how I like designing things and what sort of equipment it would take and by the end of the drive home we were actually thinking about starting a company that could print graphics and apply them on garments and stuff like that.
A couple months later when we were at the provincial championships (those Devilettes got the best of us at provincials) we went to Stalls and ordered a Rolland BN20-A full colour commercial printer & cutter.  We can cut vinyl or use special white vinyl that we print on for custom graphics.  We also bought a really cool Hotronix Heat Press, a second vinyl cutter and a bunch of different types of vinyl. I’ve been taking Adobe Illustrator classes and some of my dads designers help us design custom graphics for people.

1000+ Garments In A YEAR

Since then we’ve added new computers, lots of shelving, another vinyl cutter, we bought a really cool engraving machine that my dad uses for engraving Yetis and Stanley’s and all sorts of other stuff.  We’ve got a second engraver and a couple other heat presses that can do mugs and ball caps and smaller stuff as well.
We’ve done Wellesley Public School Grad Hoodies for a couple years, Twin Centre Hericanes Hoodies & T-shirts & jackets and so much more.  We’ve built team hoodies for my new team the Wilmot Wolverines U15 team, my sisters teams the last two years and so much more.
